What is Chiropractic?

Updated: Oct 8

Chiropractic is a conservative medicine approach to the musculoskeletal system. By using non-invasive, nonsurgical, non-pharmaceutical methods, Chiropractors aim to change pain by a hands-on, functional-based approach.

Chiropractors specialize in muscles, joints, nerves, tendons, ligaments, and connecting fascia. Treatment often includes spinal manipulation, manual muscle work, and therapeutic exercises to help improve the function while decreasing the pain. This type of hands–on approach is a great alternative to surgery, physical therapy, injections, opioids, muscle relaxers, occupational therapy, and more.

The aim of Chiropractic care is to find and address the root cause of pain. Then, through various techniques, they can help improve the communication between a muscle and/or joint and accelerate the healing process.

Furthermore, Chiropractic can also help address and prevent the risk of future injuries. By strengthening muscles, eliminating tightness or stiffness, improving range of motion, and identifying muscle imbalances, future or returning injuries can be prevented.
