Stop Doing Crunches

Updated: Sep 24

Crunches are a popular exercise for strengthening the abdominal muscles. However, they can also be bad for your back. When you do a crunch, you are flexing your spine, which can put pressure on the discs in your back. This can lead to pain, stiffness, and even injury.

Here are some exercises that are better for your back than crunches:

◾️ Diaphragmatic Breathing

◾️ Dead Bug

◾️ Plank

◾️ Bird dog

◾️ Farmers Carries

◾️ Suitcase Carries

◾️ Glute bridge

◾️ Pallof Press

◾️ Side Bridge

These exercises all work the core muscles without putting as much stress on the back.
