Is it Normal to Be Sore After Chiropractic Visit?

Writer's picture: Teresa PorterTeresa Porter

One of the most common questions we receive - Is it okay to be sore after the first visit? The answer is yes. Especially if you’ve never been to a chiropractor before, it is okay to be sore. As we explore new ranges of motion, learn to use different muscle groups, or even accelerate the healing process, a little soreness is okay.

We try to warn new patients that they can be sore for 24-48 hours following their first visit. However, if you experience soreness, increase in pain, etc. past the 48 hour point, please give us a call. There are times where we need to switch exercises, give the body time to recover, or back off on the amount of treatment provided.

Never hesitate to call and ask us questions! We are here for you. (615)-900-5187.

As Dr. Porter always says, a little more pain today means less pain tomorrow. And remember, always keep moving because that will help with the soreness too.
