Hip Flexor Stretch

Do you experience pain in the front of the hip? Groin pain? Pain with running or walking? Then you might have a tight hip flexor.

Your hip flexor sits in the front of your hip and is responsible for helping to bring your knee towards your chest. These muscles become especially tight with prolonged sitting because the muscle is in a shortened muscle for an extended time.

Try this exercise to help stretch your hip flexors:

1. This exercise is performed standing, with one foot up on a chair

2. Place your hands on your low back

3. Lunge forward with your hips, as you lean backwards with your back

4. Hold for 1-2 seconds.

5. Return to the starting position.

6. Repeat 10 times. Then switch legs

7. Perform this exercise 3x per day OR as prescribed by your doctor.
