Exercise for Slouchers or Bad Posture!

Updated: Aug 22

Do you slouch? Struggle keeping an upright posture? Have mid-back stiffness? Give this exercise a try!

Kneeling thoracic extensions are a valuable exercise for improving mobility and flexibility in your upper back (thoracic spine). This area often becomes stiff due to prolonged sitting or repetitive movements.

Here’s how you do it:

  1. Kneel in front of something that is about coffee table height (chair, bench, etc.)

  2. Have your knees hip-width apart.

  3. Interlock your fingers behind your head, while resting your elbows on the edge of the table

  4. Lean your upper back down towards the ground. Hold for 1-2 seconds.

  5. Return to the starting position.

  6. Repeat 10 times

  7. Perform this exercise 3x per day

By regularly performing kneeling thoracic extensions, you can improve your overall mobility, posture, and reduce discomfort in your upper back.
