Exercise for Pain Between Shoulder Blades

Let’s learn a great exercise to help with upper back pain and stiffness! This exercise targets your serratus anterior muscle, which helps stabilize the scapula against the rib cage.

To perform this exercise,

  • 1. Make sure you are standing or sitting straight up, while looking straight ahead.

  • 2. Pull your shoulders and shoulder blades down (If you struggle with this, lift your shoulders all the way to your ears. Then relax them as far down as you can. )

  • 3. Keep your shoulder blades in this position and your elbows at your side

  • 4. Then you want to turn your wrist outside and pull out at the same time.

  • 5. Repeat 10 times, 3x a day. But space out your sets for maximum benefit.

If this exercise doesn’t help, then we highly recommend getting an adjustment and some muscle work! Visit our website at Tennesseebackpaincenter.com for more information!
