Tip #1 - Get Adjusted. Adjustments are a great tool to help improve communication between the brain and our body. When we have joint restrictions, it can often cause tight muscles in the neck, which refer to the head.
Tip #2 - Chin Retractions. This is one of our favorite exercises because it helps stretch/relax the muscles of the back of the neck while strengthening the muscles of the front. It also helps with forward head carriage, disc bulges/herniations, and posture!
Tip #3 - Take a magnesium supplement. Studies have shown that magnesium helps reduce inflammation and decrease blood pressure levels, both of which are major triggers for headaches.
Tip #4 - Watch your sugar intake. Sugar is an inflammatory food, which can raise blood pressure, irritate muscles, nerves, etc. If your diet consists of a lot of sugar or even an increase in sugar/alcohol lately, changing your diet might be the solution to getting rid of your headaches.
Tip #5 - Move! Movement is the best medicine. Don’t stay in one position for too long. Engage different muscles of your neck and back. Movement is also good to help eliminate inflammation, relaxes the body, and helps with lymphatic drainage.
