Achieve Pain Relief with Cupping

Cupping Therapy

Cupping is a soft-tissue technique that can help with tight muscles, swelling, lymphatic drainage, and scar tissue. The cup increases blood flow to the area, breaks up fibrous adhesions between muscle fibers, and helps eliminate swelling. Cupping can also help relieve muscle tension/tightness, fluid buildup, and pinched nerves.

How it works:

Cupping is an ancient Chinese medical technique that involves silicone, glass, or plastic cups placed on the skin. The cups use a vacuum method to create suction and cause the skin to rise and blood vessels to expand. This helps draws blood flow to the area, allowing the muscles and surrounding fascia to glide better.

There are two types of cupping: static cupping and dynamic cupping. Static cupping means you place the cups on an area and leave them there for three to five minutes. Dynamic cupping allows you to move the cup along the muscle to decrease adhesions and increase motion of the muscle. Both methods are used to help relieve muscle pain.

Additionally, cupping can help improve the health of the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system helps remove the waste from the body. When the lymphatic system is interrupted, the body can store excess fluids, which can cause many symptoms. Cupping can help prevent fluid buildup by increasing the flow of the lymph.
